Wow. Since i was at the 35er, it's understandable why, i hope, the sentence "Started talking about an artist's community, or more like an artist's community." came out so nonsensical.
I meant to say more like a hostel for artists.
The idea would be to find a cool space, so everyone's general area is a cool working environment, a place just to let ideas flow. Anyway, everyone would pitch in to cover rent, or you could pay a daily or weekly fee as well.
Essentially, however, there wouldn't be private rooms. One idea was lots of bunk beds in various rooms.
Thus, if you live in Chicago and need to get away for a few weeks, on an artists retreat, but u can't afford to spend much, the hostel would be the perfect place.
Say, for instance, the hostel is near Old Town Pasadena. Everything you could need is within blocks. You have great bus and metro-rail access, so you really wouldn't need a car, and since ur only renting a bunk, costs would be really cheap,
