YT goes to Patagonia
YT does green
Patagonia is one of my favorite places to buy clothing, and since I have a gift card for the store I thought id check it out.
Found some shirts I really liked, but they were long sleeved. Considering what the weather has been like in California, I'm not sure long sleeved shirts make sense.
Plus, they didn't have my size, which is the one thing I really don't like about Patagonia - get some bigger sizes! I can fit into smaller sizes, but I like it big.
Anyway stopping by 35er for a quick one.
The sun shines on YT
Sunshine and a double, double
I saved last night's dinner for brunch today. Even a microwaved double, double from In and Out tastes better than any other fast food burger.
After eating, I took a little walk around outside to burn some calories. That's my shadow suckers!
The weather in So Cal is out of control. While 600000 people in the Midwest are freezing their asses off without electricity, im catching a tan.

Check out the latest YTsWorld Design
My latest YT design. Rate yours. So, I'm trying to come up with a series of YTsWorld designs to put on t-shirts, and I'm asking for your help (It could be worth a free t-shirt). The basic design is based upon an upside down Y and a T combined. This one was drawn in Flash, but you can take photographs of your sketches if that's easier.

YT thinking about YT
Which should I pick next?
I'm heading back to work. Thus, I thought I would stop by the YardHouse for one quick happy hour beer.
All day long I've been thinking about designs for YT T-shirts. I have this character in mind. Something simple. Like a stick figure. A stick figure derived from a Y and a T doing all sorts of things, such as YT practicing martial arts.
Anyway, gotta finish up this drink, have one more and get back to work.
I'll put up a link later for any YT designs.
Lunch at Crocodiles
My old spot
Back when I used to work on Lake and Green, I used come to the Crocodile Café regularly. Several years ago it was one of the few bars you could find Stella on tap - long before Paseo and the YardHouse.
So, I'm back for lunch today.
I like almost everything on the menu. Some extreme favorite: I like the taquitos for an appetizer, and the onion rings. The Ahi and shrimp salad. The ahi sandwhich, the cheeseburger and the flank steak.
The Crocodile also uses top quality ingredients , and the customer service is usually quite good. In fact, on this trip the service was really good - which doesn't surprise me.
The Goldline rules
Extend the Metro
Man, I take the Goldline pretty much everyday. You can't beat, especially if you enjoy happy hour as much as I often do.
If you extend the service to Santa Monica, the airport, maybe even Glendale - imagine the Metro to the Galleria - and places such as that, the Metro could be huge.
Man, imagine all the happy hours I could visit!

Working at the 35er
But im not getting much done
So I'm driving to Vegas tomorrow morning. I don't really need to be there until 8:30 PM, but I hate driving to Vegas when there is traffic.
Thus, I'll be heading out by 10. That combined with my uselessness this week has me at the 35er trying to work, trying to change my mood.
Unfortunately, I've been here about an hour, but I've only done about 10 minutes of work. And I think Im going to do some work when I get to Vegas!!!
If you are in Vegas, I'll be at Treasure Island and MGM most of the time. Look for me in a YTsWorld or IWEARWEED t-shirt. Also, if you have some great photos or memories of your favorite Las Vegas experiences, show us or tell us about them.

YT pulling a nooner at Weilands
Next stop for YT, the wagon?
As I finished up at the Farmer's market, I thought id stop by Weiland Brewery in the basement of the Arco building - if its still called that.
They don't brew here, instead they contract Firestone for that service. Nonetheless, descent IPA. The manager also gave me a taste of The Duchesse de Bourgogne, a very interesting Belgian beer.
Anyway, had a good time. Great customer service from everyone from the manager on down. I think ill come back again and eat next time.
If you are in downtown LA, give this place a try, especially if you are near Bunker Hill.
If you do eat when you are here, the bartender highly recommends the Sonoma grilled cheese and the burgers.
Have you tried Weilands Brewery in downtown LA?

YT goes shopping
Going green by going to the Farmer's Market
Im picking up some bread and produce at the 5th Street farmers market in downtown Los Angeles, in front of the library.
Keeping it local.
I go three farmer's market. One in my neighborhood, and two on the Metro Goldline, my primary form of transportation.
Without doubt, however, the downtown market is by far my favorite.

Still tired - YTs Day
Useless
That's pretty much my word of the week, as it describes what I think of myself perfectly.
I've been completely useless for the last two days, although I did watch the inauguration today. I also barbecued some pretty good portabellas for dinner.Still, none of that qualifies as work.
I don't think it was just Doo Dah that has led to my uselessness. I haven't been able to get back on track since the Holidays and New Years.
Whatever.
Gotta get it together for Las Vegas Friday - u know YT won't get much sleep in Vegas.
Anybody been to Vegas recently? Any good tips or updates.
Art at Eddies
YT likes
On Sunday I was at a Doo Dah Parade at Eddies house and I noticed Eddy had some pretty cool art displayed on his walls.
My photographs aren't very good, but I'm going to get some better photos once my camera is repaired.
Check out the rest of Eddies Art.
Also, have some cool art, show us your art.

After Doo Dah blahs
Breakfast
I've spent about 10 minutes actually working today. Not off to a good start. Still, had a great time at DooDah and the 35er.
Also, didn't take many photos of Doo Dah, but I did shoot a bunch of video. We'll see how that turns out.
Did, however, get some cool photos of art. More on that later.

YT and Wong at Doo Dah
I don't care
Me and Wong are kicking it at some party in Old Town, above the Doo Dah Parade. We're the ones throwing all the beads.
OK, me and Wong aren't throwing any beads. We're just consuming all the beverages. Good stuff, Eddy!
I started at 8:30 this morning, and things have gotten out of control. Don't expect much more from YTsWorld today.

Ready for DooDah Parade
Last meal before DooDah
Getting ready for DooDah, one of Pasadena's most interesting events. Tomorrow ill be on a liquid-only diet starting about 8:30 AM at Lucky Baldwins. Ill be wearing an IWEARWEED shirt.
Ill be reporting live all day. Unfortunately, I'll be dependent upon my mobile phone, and its crappy camera, for posting (although video will eventually be available).
If you see me, say "I wanna wear weed", and it could be worth a free IWEARWEED t-shirt.

YT wonders - What is too much junk in the trunk?
When is a big butt too big?I had to laugh this morning when I saw the article Booty Basics, based off of an Oprah Winfrey show. Booty Basics helps women make their butts look better.

Crazy days in YtsWorld
Drama
What a bunch of drama this morning. Damn. Can't get productive now. No worries; however, i'll be making up time this weekend at the doo dah parade in Pasadena this Sunday.
Unfortunately, I'm still going to be stuck using my phone's camera - Best Buy sucks!
I know it's a terrible picture, but what do you think of the shirt?
Cops prepaing to rush apartment
10 cops ready to rock and roll
If you ask me the cops won't find anyone. They're always too late. Anyway, still kind of cool watching them in full action.
Got 10 going inside and several more still scoping out the place with rifles.
Yet, to be honest, I don't think they are even going to the right apartment.
Semi-automatics and shotguns
Surrounded in my house
There are police cars and helicopters all around me. Cops carrying shot guns and semi-automatic weapons are hiding all over just outside my house. One is even on my stoop.
Fortunately, they are not looking for me, but someone across the street. Love living in the hood. Its a nice feeling knowing cold-blooded killers hang out just across the street.

YT's final thoughts
Yoli sums it up
This is bad picture of Yoli and its all my fault. I'm completely dependent upon my camera phone and it sucks.
Yoli was the last interview regarding YT Wonders, Are we all just lying sheep.
Anyway, yes we all lie, but most of us do it because its often the path of least resistance. We don't live in the perfect world, and none of us are perfect.
If the 35er is a microcosm of the greater human society, were not so bad as people. Were not perfect, but were all just struggling to do the best that we can.
Overall, it was a good day in YTsWorld.

Carlos on lying sheep
Don't take my picture Carlos
I lie to protect people's feelings, says Carlos.
Deb doesn't agree. She tries not to lie. It always comes back to hurt you, although she admits to fibbing some times.
And, I agree. I lie. Not to take advantage, but for the path of least resistance, and sometimes to protect people. Altough, maybe I do that to protect people from my bad deeds? I'm not sure.
Suddenly, YT is depressed.

Anthony on lying
Irish Anthony
Are we all just lying sheep?
6 million jews that died by the nazis prove what were conformists, says Anthony.
Anthony believes we all lie everyday, but its not to be deceptive in a mean way. We just want to make ourselves more glamour. Were just stretching the truth.

YT wonders, are we all just lying sheep?
Liars and followersMan, we humans are a real joke. According to numerous studies, humans are typically a bunch of followers. Sheep.
Ironically, however, half us don't think we're sheep. Half us are outright liars. We're in denial. It's everyone else that is the mindless follower. At least that's what I'm figuring based on some info on CNN today.
Finish: Rate yourself: Lying Sheep - Are you an average human?

YT has a tough day
Just one of those days
Yesterday was supposed to be a fairly big day for YTsWorld. I was going to be in downtown LA for a number of events. Unfortunately, the YTsWorld website was down all morning, and I spent hours troubleshooting.
Damn I hate technology.
I did stop in at the 35er and I stole this doodle from Deb.

Failed New Year's Resolutions
Rate your failures
As I sit here, an hour before noon, drinking a winor without the orange juice, Im glad I didn't make any silly resolutions this New Years. In fact, I didn't make any this year.
I was with one of my friends, however, on New Years Day and his no smoking resolution failed in only hours.
Why do so many make resolutions destined for failure?
How about your resolutions? Rate your resolutions.

YT blows hemp assignment
I blame it all on the 35erSo, I had to run a few errands yesterday, and I thought I would use the opportunity to promote IWearWeed.com, another piece of the RateYours community.
Anyway, I thought I'd do a random survey asking people if they knew what hemp was and how it was different from its better known relative, marijuana. Essentially, I just wanted to clarify the fact that hemp is used for industrial applications, such as clothes, bioplastics, even food.
Hemp is not a drug. Hemp is, however, real green.
Anyway, I asked two people - both knew what hemp was, and I stopped by DSW, to see if they had any hemp products, which they did not.
Actually, I also checked out American Apparel for hemp shirts, but they didn't sell any either, but they did at least sell organic cotton shirts - I'll be printing my first YTsWorld t-shirts on these shirts (Also, for the record, the only place I've found hemp clothes in Old Town is Patagonia, though I've found hemp shoes at multiple places in Old Town, such as the Vans store.).
Then as I was heading back to the office, feeling as if I failed on my hemp quest, which I did, I stopped by the 35er. At the 35er, I thought, I could get at least one picture and interview on hemp, as I decided an anonymous survey was worthless unless I was going to ask hundreds of people.
However, I ran into friend, Alejandro, at the 35er as he was sketching ideas for potential paintings. One sketch is below. Sorry for the crappy photo. Only my phone camera is working right now. Anyway, this sketch took Alex about 2 minutes to draw, and he literally pumped out dozens more in the short time I was at the 35er.
So what you say? Fine. Show us your art.

YT wonders - Do you know what hemp is?
Its not a drug
So, I have to go to Paseo in Old Town to pick up some shirts. While im out I thought I would do a random survey about hemp.
Thus my survey question is do you know what hemp is?
I won't be out for long, but I hope to get a little info, and find out if people totally know about hemp or not.

1st Rule of Dating: Check her pulse
Anthony's rules of dating
The key to scoring?
Pretty easy according to my good friend Anthony. (For the record, this is a picture of Anthony getting shot down by some girls at the diver.)
Anyway, the first thing o do when you're trying to pick up a girl, is check her pulse. Literally.
I don't know. We'll have to see how that works.
What's the first thing you do?

Friday afternoon at the 35er
Bad boy today
So, I made it to the 35er today. Stayed longer than I wanted to. I always do.
Anyway I was talking to Deb, a bartender at the 35er. Deb has this really cool art. You can check her out at lalunasol.com.
Anyway, she has interesting skull art. Shes into dia los muertos kind of stuff. Frida. And she wants to put it on urns.
I think its a fantastic idea. Day of the dead influenced art on urns?
Is it just me, or is that just perfect?
What better medium? Tombstones?
Anyway, check her art out and check out the 35er if you are ever in old town, pasadena.
Also, have some cool art? Show us.
Hair of the dog
My mobile office
So I had to get out and run some errands this morning. And, why not? Im hung over.
I went to the diver, aka the 35er, last night, and I was going to try to do a YTsWorld session, but it just wasn't happening. It was too loud and busy - BCS Championship game - and I just wasn't in the mood. Good thing im the boss, or I might have to fire myself for that effort.
So I've run most of my errands and now im at the world famous Barney Beaneries - one of Janis Joplins old stomping grounds. Actually im at the one in pasadena , not the famous one in Hollywood, but whatever.
Anyway, just getting a little hair of the dog to get me through the day, at least until 4:20, when I have an important appointment.
Anyway that's YTsWorld today. Hopefully ill be more interactive later.

Feel like throwing up
YardHouse disappoints a little
Met some friends yesterday at the YardHouse. Everything seemed fine until I ate a piece of chicken in the Nachos that tasted like crap. My stomach has been in an uproar since early this morning.
Hoping to take YTsWorld to the 35er later today, but the way I'm feeling, who knows.

YT Wonders -What if you only had one day to live?
What would you do?So, you've just been told you only have 1 day left to live, but you'll live that day in perfect health.
What would you do the last day?
That's what I've been thinking about since last night. If you have some good ideas, click the link, What would you do??.
At first it seems easy. Spend time with family and friends, right? Or, better yet, party hard with family and friends.
Or, is that too simplistic?
Anyway, that's the main thread I've worked on so far today for Rateyours.com.
Yet, what I've really wanted to do is stop in at the 35er, my office away from the office. My home away from.
Yes, it's a bar in Old Town Pasadena. No, it's not just a drink I want. I often go there and drink coffee. It's just a place to hang out. Go ahead, snicker all you want. I don't care. OK. Yes I do, but that just sounded like the right thing to say.
Anyway, I'm on a deadline on some other projects, so I probably won't be going anywhere, especially since I have to meet some people at the YardHouse for dinner.

This is YTsWorld
Welcome to YTsWorld
YTsWorld is diary based blog of Rateyours.com focused largely on my life, particularly the part of my life affected by Rateyours, a web property I'm still trying to figure out. While a diary, YTsWorld is also very much focused on interactions with the real world. Thus, YT tells you about his world and You Too, in turn, tell about yours. Thus, if you run into YT, we just might one to inverview You Too!
So, look for YT in your neighborhood. Most often I'll be wearing the T-Shirt that says YTsWorld. Of course, if you don't live in Southern California, you probably won't ever see YT. Still, you never know when I'll be in Vegas, Detroit, Pismo Beach, Madison, WI, or many of the other cities I've visited in the past few years. Still, just cuz you don't live by me, doesn't mean you can't relate.
Anyway, that's the idea. We'll see where we go from here.
