Maybe 2011 wasn’t the greatest year, but you can leave the 2011 hangover behind with a few BlowFish, a new hangover drug recently approved by the FDA.

Playing the media whore game

Some say Kim Kardashian is a brainless media whore. She might be a media whore, but it’s hard to call her brainless because she seems to be playing the media like a fiddle. I mean just a few weeks ago, after her wedvorce, the media slammed her endlessly. Yet, even Yahoo had Kim K’s holiday calendar photos on their front page this morning. In the battle between Kim K versus the media, the media is easily the bigger whore.

Thus, YT is seeking Kim K’s support for YT’s run for Congress and, more important, the campaign against Congressional incumbents.

Yes, like all the others, Kim, YT is trying to use you, but at least it’s for a good cause.

To be certain, I’m not sure exactly what Kim does to achieve so much attention, other than being beautiful. Then again, I’m not sure what Congress does anymore. Well, except for fighting and spending lots of money.

Anyway, it’s time to put a pretty face on the YT4Congress campaign, and it doesn’t get much more pretty and media-grabbing than Kim Kardashian. So, c’mon Kim. Join the YT campaign against Congressional incumbents. Join the YT4Congress movement.

Politicians are “sh**heads” who “stab you in the f**king back” according to actor Daniel Craig of James Bond and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo fame.

But they don’t just stab you in the back, they steal your money according to a new study.

Isn’t it simply time to vote them all out? Isn’t it time to vote for YT?

Over the last 25 years, according to University of Michigan study, the wealth of the average US citizen has declined, while the average wealth of those in Congress has tripled.

Since 2004 and through the recession, those in Congress are increasing their wealth at a faster pace than even the richest Americans. Thus, as Congress fights amongst itself as the rest of America suffers, times have never been better for those in Congress.

What are we waiting for?

Democrat. Republican. Does it really matter? Both parties have controlled Congress and the Presidency for the last 25 years, but has anything really changed?

It’s time for change. REAL change. Let’s just vote them all out and start over. Let’s make those in Congress get a real job. Vote against incumbents.

YT knows independents, and Donald Trump is no independent

If there is anything worse than Donald Trump running for President as a Republican, it’s DT running for President as an Independent. So, he can’t find much resonance in the Republican Party, so now he’s an independent? How convenient.

OK. If there is anything worse than Donald Trump running for President, it’s having to look at the Donald’s hair style.

We suggest that if Trump wants to help America, he support the YT for Congress campaign. Until then, YT is sporting a ridiculous combover to protest this absurdity.

Metro to the Rose Bowl and some great happy hours

Drinking and driving isn’t cool

Aside from being anti-incumbent, YTsWorld is a huge fan of happy hours, especially ones on the Metro, particularly the Goldline, since YTsWorld is based in NELA. Ultimately, public transportation is good and more politicians should be supportive.

Anyway since the Goldline will probably transport many Rose Parade and Rose Bowl fans over the next few weeks, it’s time to cover some of the best happy hours on the Goldline.

We’re going to start off at Le Grande Orange at the Del Mar Station for a number of reasons. First, the bar of Le Grande Orange offers a view of Goldline trains that is a pretty cool Metro experience. It feels so, well, not LA. Of course this is Pasadena, not Los Angeles, but I think you understand what I mean. Aside from the view, Le Grande Orange has been known to offer specials for Metro riders that can show proof or ridership.

Overall, the happy hour deals at Le Grande Orange are worth a visit, but not the best in the area. But the location, the view, and the quality make Orange tasty.

After Le Grand Orange, if you don’t mind a little extra walking. Head south down Raymond Blvd to Del Mar and the Congregation Ale House, which just opened a branch in Pasadena. They only offer a $1 dollar off their taps during happy hour, but they always have a $3.00 tap special. And on Mondays it’s happy hour all day. Thus, on Monday, the Ale House is the place to pray to the barley gods.

From here, if you have an all day Metro pass you can now either head back to the Del Mar Station and take the train to Memorial Park, or you can just walk up Raymond or Fair Oaks, past Central Park, to Old Town.

Once in Old Town, there are countless options.

Lucky Baldwins on Raymond just before Colorado — in the alley — is a must stop, although LB’s focus on craft beers makes happy hour a little more expensive. Also try the Fish and chips, and enjoy the killer outdoor patio.

After LB’s, stay in the alley and walk towards Fair Oaks and stop at the 35er, especially on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday when Deb is working happy hour. They always have some of the best happy hour deals in Old Town and Deb plays a great jukebox.

If you’re really cheap and/or heading to the Rose Bowl, head north up Fair Oaks a couple of blocks and stop by 72 North. Typically, 72 North offers the best food and beverage happy hour deals in Old Town. If you’re purely focused on saving money, this is a pretty good bet. While there, step out back and stop by one of Pasadena’s hidden drinking holes, the Old Town Pub. It’s historical, man.

If you’re in town for a while, there are many other places to add into your rotation.

For instance, the YardHouse’s happy hour, east down Colorado — just a few blocks away from the heart of Old Town — draws a great crowd, offers an outstanding selection of beers and martinis plus some of the best happy hour prices in the area. Most would agree that the Yardhouse offers the best overall happy hour experience in the Old Town area.

I could go on, as there are still many more places to cover, but this list provides a few of my top picks for Rose Bowl fans. Additionally, keep your eyes open. There are a number of small restaurants, many of which serve beer, that also offer some great deals in the area, but the atmosphere in these establishments is less entertaining.

And when you’re out hitting happy hours, don’t forget to tell them YT sent you. There could be some secret specials for such fans.

I’m not very artistic. That’s why YT is a stick figure based upon the letters Y and T. Genius!

OK. Seriously, I need help — in more ways than one — but I’m willing to pay some good old benjamins for a great YT4Congress t-shirt design.

Here’s the rules. Basically there are no rules.

Obviously, the phrase YT4Congress has to be part of the design — a key part — but that’s it. Duhh!

Don’t like the Y and T based character? Don’t use it then. Make up your own character, but we’ll probably be biased towards Y and T based submissions — if you choose to use a character. Great lettering alone might be enough to win, such as a great graffiti piece.

The money

If we pick your design to use on a t-shirt we’ll pay you either $500, or $100 and 50 % of all t-shirt profits that utilize your design. It’s your choice.

Even if we don’t pick ANY designs for use on a t-shirt, we’ll still pick at least 1 winner for a $100 prize.

What do you have to lose?

Again, there are no rules — just like in Congress. LOL. However, the design should be PG in nature, although a good adult orientated t-shirt might still have a chance.

And, if you’re wondering, for what does ‘YT’ stand?

Aside from anti-incumbency, good mass transportation and the joy of a great happy hour, YT is a character with no race, no religion, no ethnicity and no gender, although YT is probably more masculine than feminine. But emasculate YT if you like. We’re game.

Let’s be real. Today, our political system is a joke. So let’s mock it and laugh at it while promoting real change. Anything other than the status quo is better than what’s going on in Congress today, and what has been going on Congress for many, many years now.

Isn’t it time to turn the system on its head? And for now, that’s about as much as YT stands for as an image.

It’s all about leadership

Maaaatt Daaaammmon. What was that from? America! FXXX yeah!, right? Anyway, you gotta give it up to Damon, a one-time huge supporter of President Obama, turned pretty vocal Obama critic, for speaking his mind.

Turns out Damon isn’t too impressed with the President’s leadership skills .

To which I’d ask, and what about Congress? Consequently, why not join the YT for Congress campaign?

“If the Democrats think that they didn’t have a mandate – people are literally without any focus or leadership, just wandering out into the streets to yell right now because they are so pissed off.”

“Imagine if they had a leader,” wonders Damon.

Hello? YT!

Perhaps the President has been MIA a few times, but isn’t Congress even more reckless and irresponsible? I mean, if it wasn’t for spending money, these guys, and a few gals, in Congress wouldn’t accomplish anything. I mean aside from bribes and stock gains based on the kinds of insider information others go to jail for acting upon, nothing has been accomplished in the last year.

Fortunately, as they say, life is full of choices. Instead of becoming white collar criminals, these thieves become members of Congress. If you can’t follow the law, always better to live above the law!

Sure, that’s a good reason to hit the streets and yell, but I’d say it would be better to join the YT for Congress campaign. YT is prepared to be an honest criminal! If Congress needs some leadership, YT is ready to lead the way to real change.

Time to inject change into the party of old farts

While I’m hoping for an incumbent revolution in Congress in ’12, it seems possible that Republicans could increase their control of Congress. However, I don’t believe the elephants have much of a chance knocking the donkeys out of the White House. While Ron Paul is somewhat interesting, Republicans in general just aren’t very hip.

Thus, YT is going to run for Congress as a Republican. It’s time to turn the party upside down.

Obviously, there are a lot of old people in America, and I guess that’s why Republicans resonate. Geritol, hip replacements, and AARP cards form a pretty tight bond of nostalgia.

Thus, YT is taking his medical cannabis club card on the campaign trail. Time to show the old farts that the day doesn’t it end at 5:00 PM, it just gets started at 4:20.

Time for a 99 percent party?

Maybe Republicans are worse, but both parties are still terrible

The 99 percent versus the 1 percent. That’s the real game in town, right? So why is the key political battle in America still pitted as Democrats versus Republicans?

America’s income gap has grown during both Democratic and Republican administrations. During both Democratic and Republican-controlled sessions of Congress.

Aren’t BOTH Democrats and Republicans part of the problem?

Maybe it’s time for a new party labeled the 99 percenters? In fact, what if 99 percenters only elected people that reside in the 99 percent?

Seriously, if most — if not all — in Congress are from the 1 percent, how is the 99 percent ever supposed to be truly and fairly represented?

Is it time for the 99 percent party?

Minimally, it’s time for the anti-incumbent party.

A brief description of YT

Who is YT? I mean if you’re going to vote someone into Congress, don’t you want to know something about the person?

Ironically, YT isn’t even a person. YT is a character. And, no, YT isn’t code for some white supremacy conspiracy. In fact, YT and YTsWorld have absolutely nothing to do with race.

YT is simply an old nickname. And YT’s world spawned from a group of friends that used to hang out at a place called Al’s bar in Highland Park, CA — don’t Google it. You’ll never find it. The only people that know anything about Al’s bar are the people that used to go there, as it was really a hangout, not a public business.

Anyway, almost everyone that frequented Al’s bar were non-whites. YT was one of the few white people that was a regular at Al’s, but that’s really irrelevant.

Consequently, YT became a character in a bunch of stories that almost no one has read that had everything to do with some adventures that spawned at Al’s bar, and then YT became a cartoon character.

Today, YT is still a cartoon character. Running for Congress.

How does that make sense?

No one is really going to vote for YT. That’s not the point. The point is that it’s arguable that even a cartoon character could do a better job than most in Congress. Thus, the YT for Congress movement is about real change. Basically, a vote against the status quo. A vote against incumbents.

Outside of that, YT’s World is just a voice in Los Angeles. One that especially likes to take the Metro, especially the Goldline, and frequent happy hours.
