YT world graphic update and design contest

The latest YTsWorld graphic

Haven't done a YTsWorld graphic in a long time, so I thought I'd get to it. Since YT regularly wears hemp t-shirts, I thought it was time to start thinking about an Iwearweed.com t-shirt focused on YT.

Anyway, I'm looking for ideas. Have an idea for a t-shirt based on YT? Upload it now.

Black hemp shoes in the house

Shopping for black hemp shoes in Pasadena.

Has YT found what he's looking for?

Found several pairs of hemp shoes at Neo 39, but only one of them was black - a pair of Saucony's. Sure wish I could find a wider selection of hemp shoes in Old Town.

Id stop by the Vans store again, but I'm still mad after my last Vans shopping trip. Of course, this trip wasn't much better. Fricken sale's people don't even know they have hemp.

Nonetheless, I think the Sauconys might work, but I have to come back and try them on with shorts.

Do you wear weed? Check out more of YT's hemp adventures at Iwearweed.com.

Finding a morning drink in Old Town

Barney's beanery in old Old Town Pasadena is close to the Metro Goldline.

Screw driving

Took the train up to Old Town to meet Wong and to buy these cool hemp shoes I saw the other day. Since I arrived early, I thought I'd check out some early morning drinking holes in Pasadena's Old Town.

First stop Barney's Beanery. 7 days a week you can stop here for a drink starting at 7:30AM. Barney's also has a huge menu, so you can grab a little bite to eat if you're into more than just liquid meals.

The french toast is my favorite.

Just around the corner is another great early morning drinking hole, Lucky Baldwins. However, you can't have a screwdriver at Luckys, which specializes in beer. Still, if you want some beer, bangers and mash, and to watch some European soccer league action, Lucky's is the place to be in the wee morning hours.

YT finds hemp at Gelsons

YT wants you to support hemp!

Sandwich or hemp beer?

Stopped by Gelcos to pick up a Blockbuster for lunch, and I saw this Hemp beer.

Beer. Clothes. Make up. Composites. Food. Fuel. Is there any thing you can't make with hemp?

An ethical conundrum in YTs clothes

Screw standards

So I stopped by Macys out on my walk. Damn. I can't believe the sales. Saw this is cool shirt marked way down.

Still, I'm wearing my IWEARWEED, hemp shirt.

How can I buy some shirt made by fricken global warming-causing slave labor?

I can't. I won't!

Anyway, ran into some greenpeace dudes on the sidewalk. They loved the shirt, but I didn't have time to get caught up in one of their 'give us money' spiels.

YTs Hemp Campaign Continues

YT Wears Weed

OK. I'm sick of staring at the computer, and I haven't yet eaten lunch, so I'm going to talk a walk through Old Town, Paseo, etc. to pick up lunch, stretch, so on and so forth. Of course, I'll probably finish my little excursion for a quick pint or two at the 35er before heading back to the office.

Anyway, I like to wear my IWEARWEED.COM, hemp t-shirt around on such errands, although I do need to finish off my latest hemp t-shirt design. I have a sketch of it, but replicating it in photoshop is a pain. I'm just not very photoshop-savy. Sadly, my design is quite simple.

But, back to the point.

Whenever I'm out wearing my IWEARWEED t-shirt I always get into some cool interactions with people, but I rarely remember to take note of them. So, I'll try a bit harder today. We'll see how that goes.

Highland Park knows weed

HLP knows what hemp is

As I was getting of the Metro in Highland Park yesterday, some guy asked me if my IWEARWEED.COM shirt was made of hemp. I explained that it was 55 percent hemp and 45 percent organic cotton.

Then he wanted to touch it, so I let him. He was quite impressed.

After than he stared telling me all the things he had heard about hemp, all the possible benefits. He was actually very knowledgeable about the subject and the clear differences between hemp and marijuana.

As we were talking, another dude asked if we were talking about hemp.

Turns out the kid in front was working on a paper about hemp, so the three of us talked about hemp as we walked a few blocks down 57 before heading our separate ways.

Pretty cool.

Unfortunately, we finished the conversation agreeing that the chances of legalization were pretty slim.

So, help us legalize hemp.

YT blows hemp assignment

I blame it all on the 35er

So, I had to run a few errands yesterday, and I thought I would use the opportunity to promote IWearWeed.com, another piece of the RateYours community.

Anyway, I thought I'd do a random survey asking people if they knew what hemp was and how it was different from its better known relative, marijuana. Essentially, I just wanted to clarify the fact that hemp is used for industrial applications, such as clothes, bioplastics, even food.

Hemp is not a drug. Hemp is, however, real green.

Anyway, I asked two people - both knew what hemp was, and I stopped by DSW, to see if they had any hemp products, which they did not.

Actually, I also checked out American Apparel for hemp shirts, but they didn't sell any either, but they did at least sell organic cotton shirts - I'll be printing my first YTsWorld t-shirts on these shirts (Also, for the record, the only place I've found hemp clothes in Old Town is Patagonia, though I've found hemp shoes at multiple places in Old Town, such as the Vans store.).

Then as I was heading back to the office, feeling as if I failed on my hemp quest, which I did, I stopped by the 35er. At the 35er, I thought, I could get at least one picture and interview on hemp, as I decided an anonymous survey was worthless unless I was going to ask hundreds of people.

However, I ran into friend, Alejandro, at the 35er as he was sketching ideas for potential paintings. One sketch is below. Sorry for the crappy photo. Only my phone camera is working right now. Anyway, this sketch took Alex about 2 minutes to draw, and he literally pumped out dozens more in the short time I was at the 35er.

So what you say? Fine. Show us your art.
